Walk the Walk© provides a complete, customized path forward for your at risk student to successfully graduate with a high school diploma, an understanding of the skills and sometimes further education needed to pursue their career of interest, including time at businesses and trade schools in the career paths of choice.
Each student in the program will build a resume and interview skills and be provided onsite help with job and further education applications. Students may take advantage of school to work programs in their district, attend banking and financial planning workshops, and participate in evaluated job shadowing opportunities.
Our Proven Success
Walk the Walk is a complete and personalized 4-year career exploration program that paves the path forward by providing real life experience in occupations of choice, decision making on further education, costs, and application processes. We match students with local job shadowing and open house opportunities in industries of interest and help match students with local scholarships trade/technical education, and colleges. Walk the Walk provides an aggressive Drop Out Prevention Program for the at-risk student, SNEAKER.
Engage students early in career awareness and aptitude
Walk the Walk© is a complete and personalized 4-year career exploration program, open to the entire student body, that paves the path forward by walking a student through career exploration with Holland Score assessment data returns, online career matching tools, resume and portfolio building, completes in grade 11 or 12 with continued education matching and an aggressive integrated Drop Out Prevention Module. It adds tutorials in supporting subjects and links to state and federal sites for funding, and career outlooks.

Shirley, a 1995 SRU graduate with a master's degree in secondary guidance and counseling, led successful school-to-career programs in North Carolina before returning to his native western Pennsylvania where he is launching Career Walk.
